Especially because I have convection, I would skip it next time.Īm I reading this wrong? It clearly says one nine inch cake at the top. Tip: rotating the cake halfway through caused it to collapse in the middle a bit (still delicious). I could eat this entire cake in one sitting. Unlike some reviewers I absolutely love the cream cheese and chocolate together. If I have left over butter cream, I split the cake in half & just ice the centre, dusting the top with icing sugar. So easy, so moist, sooooo delicious! I have made this cake several times but have yet to make the icing. So I'll be leaving out that step next time. I think doing so caused it to sink in the middle a bit. So delicious! Next time though, I don't think I'll rotate it half way in. I've tried playing with the flour a bit, mixing AP flour with walnut/almond/hazelnut flour to give it a nuttiness and some texture.ĭelicious with or without the frosting. My one suggestion to really take this cake above and beyond is to add a little dollop (about 1 generous TBSP) of sour cream to the frosting! The hint of tang really brings out the nice bittersweet flavors of the cake and makes the richness a little more palatable for those who are averse to such things! I am by no means a good baker but this cake really was easy AND delicious!! I think it was great as is (I didn't rotate it midway through so I got a nice rise - thank you to other reviewers for this tip!). I send cream cheese frosting.Īmazing flavour! Turns out perfect every time!
